Terms of Use — Sun Path & Shadow

Last updated: 30 August 2026

These terms cover your use of the Sun Path & Shadow app. By installing or using the app you accept them. If you do not, please delete the app.

The app is provided by Anıl Sancar, an independent developer, contactable at anilsancarr@gmail.com.

1. What you get

You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for as long as these terms are respected.

You may not resell the app, rent it out, reverse engineer it, or extract its calculations to build a competing product. Ordinary personal and professional use of the numbers it produces — planning a photograph, a garden, a building, a holiday — is exactly what it is for and needs no permission.

2. What is free and what is paid

Free, permanently: the sun’s bearing, its height above the horizon, and the length of a shadow, for the current day. These are not a trial and they do not expire.

Paid: planning beyond today — any other date, any other place on earth, and saving places you check often.

Two ways to pay:

Both unlock exactly the same features. The difference is only how you pay.

3. Billing, renewal and cancellation

Purchases are made through Apple or Google, not through me. They take the payment, they set the price in your currency, they issue the receipt, and they handle refunds. I never see your payment details.

Free trial

The monthly subscription may be offered with a free trial. Where it is, the app shows the trial’s length and the date the first charge falls due before you buy, and the exact terms are also shown on your store’s own confirmation sheet.

4. What the app is, and what it is not

The app computes solar geometry — position and shadow length — from published astronomical algorithms, using the coordinate and moment you give it. It assumes a level, unobstructed horizon. It does not know about hills, buildings, trees, weather, cloud, atmospheric refraction beyond a standard correction, or anything else in front of you.

It is provided for general information and planning.

Do not rely on it for:

Sunrise and sunset times, twilight, and shadow lengths are estimates for an ideal horizon and will differ from what you observe. Treat the app as a good first answer, and verify anything that matters.

5. No warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. I do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every computed value is accurate for your situation.

Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer under the law of your own country that cannot be excluded by agreement.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, for lost profits, or for any loss arising from reliance on a value the app produced.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you actually paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.

This does not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, where the law does not permit that limitation.

7. Changes

The app changes as it is developed; features may be added, altered or removed. If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them and the current version always lives at this address. If a change materially reduces what a paid purchase gives you, it will be described in the release notes.

8. Ending the agreement

You can end it at any time by deleting the app — remembering that deleting the app does not cancel a subscription, which must be cancelled in your store account.

I may end it if the licence terms in section 1 are breached.

9. Apple and Google

These Terms are between you and me. Apple and Google are not parties to them and are not responsible for the app or its contents.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts of Türkiye have jurisdiction — without depriving you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.

Your purchase is also subject to the terms of the store you bought it from.
